• Overview:

The responsibility of designing, supplying, and installing MED thermal water desalination systems inside the MAPNA Group has been assigned to Sepahan MAPNA Engineering & Equipment Manufacturing Company.

Multi Effect Desalination (MED) systems are generally used in plants that produce both electricity and heat and also in petrochemical and refinery industries.

Advantages of MED and MED-TVC systems include:

  •
  • Low energy consumption
  • High thermal efficiency
  • Operation at low temperature and concentration ratio to prevent corrosion
  • No need for special filters or pre-treatment of incoming water
  • Low maintenance and repair costs due to lack of using membranes
  • Easy to operate (no complex equipment or special pumps are used in them)
  • High quality of produced water
  • Low consumption of chemicals
  • Long life of the equipment
  • High reliability and access
  • Ability to use excess thermal energy
